I've been visiting Mir every year since 2022 when in Cascais, and the quality is still as excellent as day one. Fresh fish, fair prices and friendly service. Ricardo is the most charming host in town.

Thanks to Amir, the owner, always kind and attentive. He even filleted my fish personally.
The house
Amir on the floor, Ricardo at the door
Mir sits on the Alameda, in the middle of Cascais, a few steps from where the buses stop and a short walk from the beach. It's a Portuguese table with a Mediterranean accent: fish and octopus over charcoal, sardines, seafood rice in the pot and a jug of sangria outside.
Amir, the owner, works the dining room himself and will fillet your fish at the table. Ricardo is at the door, inviting people in and explaining every dish. Some guests come back every year.

The octopus was the highlight. I expected rubbery and bland, that is usually how it goes, but this was completely opposite. Tender all the way through and full of flavor.

I recommend Mir in Cascais. Delicious food, very attentive and friendly staff. Much better value than the restaurants around it. Try it, you won't regret it.

Jair was so great at explaining everything about the food. Grilled octopus, garlic prawns and mussels, all absolutely delicious. A wonderful summer afternoon by the beach with refreshing sangria.

Every time I'm in Portugal I make a point of eating here. It never disappoints. The food is always fresh, the staff kind, and prices are affordable, especially for the area.

The best food we had in our 15 days in Portugal. Ricky at the entrance suggested the kids' menu and our 2-year-old was full by the end of his pasta. Lovely people and quick service.
